Coffee O'Clock
I REALLY like my coffee. Morning coffee is excellent. Afternoon coffee is great too. I have 3 favorite places here in Bellingham - Caffe Adagio, The Bean Stop and Zoom Zoom.
When on the road, it is either The Bean Stop on Samish Way or Zoom Zoom on Lincoln. At The Bean Stop, my favorite is the Mexican Mocha - hot or iced, but half the sweetness for me. Zoom Zoom is the place for a great Americano, or on a hot day splurge for an iced mocha - but it's best with toddy (cold brew) shots!
When I have time to relax or visit with a friend or client over coffee, Adagio is the way to go. They take their time and EVERY drink I have ever ordered there has been perfect. My favorite is a double tall mocha.
Family
Although we met and got married in Arizona, when it was time to start raising our kids, my wife Jenna and I decided to return to Bellingham. Our daughter Hannah, like her mother, loves animals - but in particular has a fondness for horseback riding. Our son Kai is the musical one in the family, and has become quite the avid ukulele player. Jenna is the boss, and she keeps the household running smoothly with her sidekicks, our dogs Friday and Ruby. As a family, we enjoy spending time outdoors, whether it be a hike, bike ride, or a sunny day swimming at Lake Samish.
Tyler Byrnes
I was born and raised here in Bellingham. After spending a few years travelling the country, I settled in Flagstaff, Arizona where I met my future wife. Upon returning to Bellingham in 2001, I continued my career in real estate until transitioning to the family business in 2007. My main focus these days is managing Anchor Benefits full time, but I still have an active interest in real estate and a passion for investing in local properties.

Founded By John Byrnes in 1971, Anchor Benefits Advisors has been around long enough to witness and respond to the vast changes in the insurance and employee benefit marketplace.
John quickly earned a reputation as the go to guy for employee benefits. He built a strong foundation of loyal clients, and while the business continued to grow, he never lost sight of quality over quantity. Maintaining his concierge style service was a top priority over expansion of the company.
In 2009, John began winding down his involvement in the business and passed the torch to his son, Tyler. Now, Tyler carries on the same philosophy of his father: continuing to provide unparalleled guidance to our decades long clients.
Our company continues to grow organically by word of mouth from satisfied clients and friends. We do things a little differently than most brokers. We are not chasing money. We are building the best quality life with friends, family, adventure, and health. We hope our outlook rubs off on those we are fortunate enough to work with. If you take care of your clients, the bottom line will take care of itself.
Mountain Biking
There is no question that we are a bit spoiled here in the Pacific Northwest when it comes to amazing Mountain Bike trails. For us Bellinghamsters, we have the now famous Galbraith trail system which offers miles and miles of just about any type of trail you are after.
With help from the Whatcom Mountain Bike Coalition (WMBC) our trail network continues to expand. We support the WMBC both financially and by volunteering our time working on the trails. Check out more about the WMBC and Galbraith mountain here.
